Can you believe that Lung Cancer is the number one cause of death for women in the US?
Pretty disgusting, especially when you consider that 60% of new sufferers are non-smokers.
OPI have released a special edition colour, called Breathe Life, to contribute to finding a cause for yet another life-stealing form of cancer (here in New Zealand, Breast Cancer kills 600 women a year - pretty massive when you think our at-home population sits at around 3.5 million). It's a "fresh air, silvery blue", and pretty, and almost makes you forget about the cause. OPI have made a large donation to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America, which you can read about here.
If you're an American and can support this cause, I hope you do.
What else can you do about cancer?
Here in New Zealand, Glassons sells tshirts and tops, designed by local heroes, celebrities and designers like Zambesi, Kate Sylvester, Ruby, and Huffer which contribute more than the average 10% to the Breast Cancer Research Trust.
Rodney Wayne and ghd both have Breast Cancer research support schemes.
On Facebook? Join my buddy Hannah's group here. Hannah is the Marketing Executive for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, and it's her job to secure funding to support New Zealand women and their families affected by the illness.
If, like me, you're a makeup artist (or beauty therapist), you can work at Look Good Feel Better, for women undergoing radiation therapy and chemotherapy for cancer. Totally worth it!
